8-6-20   THOUGHTS

Jesus spoke in parables.  God used all of history as a canvas to paint some awesome pictures!
The “LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD”...   SACRIFICE, FIRST BORN PERFECT LAMB.  Then THE PASSOVER scene.   Do you see a picture being drawn across the experience of mankind? And what a picture it is!  

John 1:29    The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

We go from a sacrifice where any qualified lamb WHICH was sacrificed worked on an annual basis...       To...       THE LAMB OF GOD (HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON) WHO!   It gets PERSONAL.   It is no longer A LAMB that takes away sin for a time, BUT THE LAMB JESUS WHO OFFERS THE “ONCE FOR ALL TIME” SACRIFICE FOR THE SINS OF MANKIND!

Heb 9:12    and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Heb 10:10    By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

In a simple picture arranged by God across ETERNITY, we see GRACE and MERCY, and LOVE and POSSIBILITY and PROMISE!   We see me and you, AT PEACE with our CREATOR!  We see RECONCILIATION, SALVATION, SANCTIFICATION, PROPITIATION, REDEMPTION, JUSTIFICATION...  All the great words that describe OUR GOOD NEWS!  
Surely, “WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US.”

My Prayer:
Oh God, thank you for your first love and your awesome love.  Thank you for the awesome picture of cost and love inseparably bound to the cross of Jesus.  Thank you that Jesus is your LAMB., the first begotten from the dead.  We praise you for the power of the resurrection.  Can it be that we are your children?  Yes Oh Lord... yes.
